Job Description

The role of this project manager is to plan, direct, and coordinate activities for B2B marketing initiatives involving stakeholders in multiple organizations in Microsoft.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinating projects, making detailed plans and workback schedules to accomplish goals and directing the integration of stakeholders and resources.

• Leading project-related meetings, capture and follow up on action items.

• Coordinating stakeholder signoffs where needed.

• Managing v-team meetings and communications to identify and ensure key milestones are met

• Finalizing deliverables that may include marketing materials, presentations, demos, collateral, field and customer facing assets, and other deliverables as identified by team

• Assisting with core projects like solution play landing, Global Demand Center campaigns content, customer evidence pipeline and webpage refresh (Azure.com, Microsoft.com and internal sites) as needed
• Ensuring timely communication cadence to clearly outline expectations and deadlines to all stakeholders
• Creating postmortem evaluations which can include but are not limited to summary deck and/or email summarizing highlights, lowlights and future recommendations

• Ensuring that high-quality marketing materials are delivered on-schedule and within budget.
• Managing the work of marketing agencies, including video vendors,
• Confer with management, marketing staff, and engineering counterparts to discuss project specifications and procedures.

Ability to manage projects end-to-end
Project management skills including SCRUM and waterfall methodologies
Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production.
Knowledge of computer software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio etc.

Education/Experience:
PMI, PMP or similar project management certification required.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
5-7 years experience required
Previous Microsoft work experience required
Previous Microsoft experience as a project manager preferred
Familiarity with B2B marketing and cloud technologies preferred

Job Requirements

• Years of Experience Required: 5 to 7+ overall years of experience in the field.
• Degrees or certifications required: PMI or PMP certification is required to be eligible for this role and a bachelor’s is preferred for this role.
• Disqualifiers: Candidates without any prior experience at Microsoft will not be eligible for the role. Lack of project management experience would be a red flag. It would also be a concern if the candidate is hopping from one competitor to another (Google, Oracle, AWS, and then Microsoft, etc.).
• Best vs. Average: The ideal candidate will have recent experience at Microsoft and has worked on a team that the sponsor has worked with before. Excellent communication skills.
• Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on their ability to put together project plans in a timely manner and hitting major project milestones.

1. Minimum 5 years of experience with project management.
2. Minimum 1 year experience with Business to Business (B2B) marketing – Preferably in technology.
3. Minimum 1 year experience with working with a technology product launch.

Typical Day in the Role

• Purpose of the Team: This team is the Azure infrastructure marketing team which is within the cloud marketing organization. They do product marketing and the two big focus areas for this role will be project management from the marketing side for an upcoming product launch and the other is solution play (they focus on migration of Windows Server and SQL Server customers to Azure and part of that overarching pitch includes other products like Defender). There will be a big amount of cross team collaboration and coordination and signing off on different projects approaches.
• Key projects: This role will contribute to managing the projects of the two focus areas listed above. They are working on a Windows Server Launch, creating content, managing the creation of content for a virtual event, and it might also involve creating a pitch deck (creating sales and enablement materials).
• Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 30% meetings (setting up the meetings and taking notes from the meetings), 30% creating project management structures and 40% marketing tasks (creating PowerPoints or routing content for approvals and capturing changes).
